At the forefront of the wave of soccer culture in North America sat adidas. Messi’s arrival in America, the rise of vintage jersey culture, and a growing awareness for the MLS put adidas right at the center of the beautiful game. What started as the need to create a thirty second spot for Apple TV’s new MLS Season Pass, turned into an opportunity to shine a light on some of the best parts of terrace culture. By partnering with a former pro turned artist, a New York based creative soccer club, and Austin’s favorite skate shop, we began to paint the picture of the people and faces taking soccer from a privileged youth sport to a cultural movement in America. Creating one hero film, blending all three worlds, cut down videos for each partner, and a women’s specific edit shining the light on how women are growing the game in more ways than one.
